Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 22, 2026
WebWatch ("us", "we", or "our") operates the WebWatch mobile application (the "Service").
This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of data when you use our Service and the choices you have regarding that data.
Information Collection And Use
Local Data Storage:
Your monitored websites, saved rules, and change history are stored on your device. When you choose to create a smart filter, WebWatch sends your description, the website URL, and a cleaned copy of the website's HTML through our Firebase proxy to our AI provider, OpenRouter, to create the rule. This happens during setup or when you regenerate a rule. Regular website checks evaluate the saved rule on your device and do not send page content to the AI provider. Avoid using smart filters on pages containing private information.
Usage Data:
We use third-party analytics services to collect anonymized usage data to improve the Service. This data is not linked to you or your personal information. No personally identifiable information (such as names, emails, or monitored websites) is collected. Usage data includes information about app usage, such as the number of sessions, session duration, and interactions with various features of the app.
In-App Purchases:
WebWatch is free to download but offers in-app purchases to unlock additional features (WebWatch Pro). We do not collect any payment information, as all purchases are handled securely by the App Store.
Analytics Services
We use Google Analytics to collect, monitor, and analyze anonymized usage data. This helps us understand how users interact with the app and allows us to improve the Service.
- Google Analytics: Google Analytics collects usage data that is anonymized and not linked to personal identifiers. Google may share aggregated data with other Google services. You can manage how Google collects and processes your data by reviewing their Privacy Policy here: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en
Cookies And Tracking Technologies
We do not use cookies or tracking technologies to store personal information or track behavior across websites or apps. Any tracking is strictly related to anonymized analytics for improving the functionality of our app.
Security Of Data
The security of your data is important to us. Smart-filter setup sends the information described above to our proxy and AI provider over HTTPS. The proxy does not log prompts, page content, or AI responses in application code. You are responsible for choosing which pages to use with smart filters and for maintaining the security of your device.
Age Rating
WebWatch is rated 4+ in the App Store, making it suitable for all users above the age of 4. The app does not contain objectionable material and is designed for users of all ages interested in monitoring website changes. Our Service is not directed to children under the age of 4.
Changes To This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "effective date." We encourage you to periodically review this Privacy Policy for any changes.
